You don’t need the bus or a car to get to amazing ski runs for all skill levels – all of them boasting stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The family-friendly ski resort of Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel is the biggest interconnected ski area of Skigastein.

What’s more, the linked ski area is perfect for first-timers. The undisputed highlight for kids: Gasti Snow Park at Skizentrum Angertal and Buchebenwiese Stubnerkogel. Sportgastein

Do you love to conquer perfectly groomed ski runs but also feel at home in the backcountry? Sportgastein ski resort is a great choice for both freeriders and resort skiers. Winter sports bliss is waiting for you on the ski runs and beyond! Freeriders get to enjoy heaps of powder and virgin descents. Located between 1,590 and 2,650 meters above sea level, 24 kilometers of action-packed ski runs are waiting for you in the Ski amadé ski region. What’s more, Sportgastein is just around the corner from the core zone of Hohe Tauern National Park. Freeride fans can look forward to three official ski routes – Golden Powder, Golden Rush, and Golden Ride – that are guaranteed to make your ski day even more exciting.

Graukogel

Are you looking for a ski resort that’s suitable for more ambitious winter sports enthusiasts? At Graukogel, you need skills and stamina. The challenging slopes mostly run through picturesque stone pine woods and scenic landscapes. The ski resort does not have an artificial snow-making system, instead offering you the finest natural snow. Back in 1958, Graukogel ski resort became famous as a Ski World Championship mountain thanks to Austrian winter sports crack Toni Sailer winning three times gold there. What’s more, the Zirbenroas Graukogel route also makes the resort popular with ski tourers. Getting there is easy – just hop on the ski bus! The bus takes you from the interconnected ski area (Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel) to Graukogel free of charge.

Dorfgastein – Großarltal

Dorfgastein is a great choice for those who prefer laid-back winter sports experiences. On a total length of 70 kilometers, the interconnected ski area boasts particularly gentle ski runs that are perfect for beginners.

The Freeride Info Base at the mountain station of Goldbergbahn cable car is your first port of call for mountain safety issues. In addition, the Base provides you with up-to-the-minute information on avalanche warnings and detailed route descriptions.

At ATC, the Avalanche Training Center at the valley station in Sportgastein, you can further hone your mountain safety skills. For instance, you can practice how to use an avalanche transceiver in a secure environment under real-life conditions – without a prior booking!
