The Graukogel route in detail

The adventure starts right at the Graukogelbahn valley station. You’ll step on your well-tuned touring skis and direct your focus onto the sporting experience. The route follows the B4 ski run to the middle station. As you continue gliding across vast snow fields towards Graukogelalm (hut at the middle station), you’ll be treated to breathtaking scenic views of Bad Gastein. After passing the Reicheben tow lift, there are two short, steeper sections to conquer until you reach the top station and the Graukogelhütte. There you treat yourself to a well-deserved break followed by a descent on natural snow slopes.

Tip: For a shorter tour on Graukogel, consider taking the Zirbenroas route!

Once you’ve arrived at Graukogelhütte, it’s time to set your skis aside and bask in the sun. Treat yourself to regional delicacies while taking in the magnificent view!

The current snow conditions at Graukogel do not allow for ski tours at this time.
In case of insufficient snow at Graukogel, the ski tour goes to Thomaseck.

Ski touring evenings to the Graukogelhütte (mountain station)

For ski touring enthusiasts and nocturnal athletes, the Graukogelhütte will remain open every Friday from December 25, 2025 to March 22, 2026 and on full moon nights until 10.00 p.m.
 

Ski touring evenings to the Graukogelalm (middle station)

For ski touring enthusiasts and winter lovers. Every Wednesday from December 25, 2025 to March 22, 2026 and on full moon nights, you can meet up for an evening ski tour on the Graukogel from 11.00 a.m. until 9.00 p.m..

The slopes B2 (Standard), B4 (Heimalm) and B5 (Schachenbauer) are open for ski tourers until 10:00 p.m. on ski touring evenings.
Attention: on the dates of the ski touring evenings, snow groomers and snowcannones are in operation, there is no piste safety and no piste control, the pistes are closed from 10:00 pm. On the other days, the standard slopes are usually open for ski tourers until 10:00 p.m.
