Details on the Evening Ascent to view the Solar Eclipse

When the moon passes in front of the sun, the Graukogel offers the perfect backdrop for experiencing this special natural phenomenon. Enjoy the view of the Gastein mountains and watch the solar eclipse in a relaxed atmosphere at over 2,000 meters above sea level.

Free solar eclipse glasses will be provided for safe viewing - while supplies last. The Graukogelhütte and the Graukogelalm invite you to stop by and enjoy yourself throughout the day and into the evening.

In extremely adverse weather conditions, the evening ascent will not take place. 

Evening ride ticket bookable here (ticket valid from 12.00 noon)
