Stubnerkogel
Take a look and be bold
Bad Gastein
The Stubnerkogel in Bad Gastein isn’t just a legendary mountain for skiing. The views here are also absolutely magical. A 140 meters-long suspension bridge, swaying gentle in the wind, once captured all the attention. But it has been joined directly opposite by an attractive viewing platform, aptly named the “Glocknerblick”. All visitors who dare to make their way up here are rewarded with the fantastic sight of Austria’s highest mountain, the Großglockner (elev. 3,798 m).
Another highlight on the Stubnerkogel is the adventurous rock trail, which leads along steeper, jagged rock areas. After crossing a 16 meter long suspension bridge, you reach the next striking vantage point, a viewing platform built on a plateau.
If you continue along the ridge circular hiking trail, you will see another highlight under the transmitter, the "Talblick". The platform leans towards the abyss and protrudes slightly - unlike the Glocknerblick or the Felsenweg viewing platform, this is not about a panoramic view, but about the view down and into the valley. Hence the descriptive name "Talblick". Seating steps next to the stairs in different depths and with wooden slats invite you to linger, marvel and relax and give the location the impression of an open-air cinema.
There is also another highlight for small guests - the fun center is the right place with great activities for kids.
