Hiking Tips

“Barefoot Trail” around Spiegelsee
Duration approx. 2.5 hours
The starting point for this walk is the Gipfelbahn-Fulseck summit station. The walk to Spiegelsee lake in amongst the splendid mountain scenery on Fulseck is highly enjoyable and there is also a Barefoot Trail that goes around the lake. It feels unbelievably good to walk along this trail in the peaceful surroundings. Simply stand still, breathe deeply, let your stress disappear and top up your energy levels in the midst of nature. There are plenty of comfortable seating areas where you can take a break.
Why Spiegelsee? The lake is called Spiegelsee (mirror lake) because the amazing mountain landscape is reflected in the lake. Enjoy the view! You’ll be inspired. Just below the lake, the Wengeralm and Reiterhütte taverns are ideal places to enjoy some fortifying food and drink.

The chapel path
Duration appr. 1 – 1,5 hours
On our chapel hike, as the name suggests, you will pass our two small but beautiful chapels on the mountain.
The easy mountain tour starts at the middle station, along the forest path to the Wengeralm. There you can already discover the Wengeralm Chapel at about 1650 metres. It was built in 2010 and lies idyllically embedded in the middle of the “Hohe Tauern” in the Gastein Valley. After a leisurely rest on the alpine pasture, you continue on to the Hubertus Chapel. The Hubertus Chapel is dedicated to Saint Hubertus, the patron saint of hunting, and also invites you to linger. The “Wengeralm” offers a stop for refreshments.

Since this summer our popular hiking swing Dorfgastein-Großarltal has been enriched by an exciting experience. The „Grossarler Sinnesweg“ is an easy hike for the whole family. On this hike you have to consciously enjoy nature and experience it with all your senses.
The round trail, which is suitable for prams, invites all age groups to unique nature experiences at different stations. For the children there are various play possibilities (swing, sand …) and even a crossword puzzle.
