While experienced riders can swoosh down the more challenging ski runs, beginners enjoy the gentle hills at the family-friendly ski resorts. Here’s an overview of the four areas:

True to the motto “Ski in – Ski out”, the central resort of Skigastein allows you to conveniently ski from one location to another. You don’t need the bus or a car to get to amazing ski runs for all skill levels – all of them boasting stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The family-friendly ski resort of Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel is the biggest interconnected ski area of Skigastein.

What’s more, the linked ski area is perfect for first-timers. The undisputed highlight for kids: Gasti Snow Park at Skizentrum Angertal and Buchebenwiese Stubnerkogel. At the practice area, learning how to master your first turns in the snow is as easy as pie. Magic carpets and other playful elements make the first attempts in the snow even more fun for the little ones. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced skier: It’s always worth dropping by one of Schlossalm ski resort’s inviting mountain lodges for a break: Enjoy delicious Alpine cuisine high above the valley!

Do you love to conquer perfectly groomed ski runs but also feel at home in the backcountry? Sportgastein ski resort is a great choice for both freeriders and resort skiers. Winter sports bliss is waiting for you on the ski runs and beyond! Freeriders get to enjoy heaps of powder and virgin descents. Freeride fans can look forward to three official ski routes – Golden Powder, Golden Rush, and Golden Ride – that are guaranteed to make your ski day even more exciting.

However, remember that safety always comes first! Drop by Freeride Info Base at the mountain station of Goldbergbahn cable car in Sportgastein to find out about the recommended safety equipment, the correct behavior in the mountains, and important warning notices.

Are you looking for a ski resort that’s suitable for more ambitious winter sports enthusiasts? At Graukogel, you need skills and stamina. The challenging slopes mostly run through picturesque stone pine woods and scenic landscapes. The ski resort does not have an artificial snow-making system, instead offering you the finest natural snow. Back in 1958, Graukogel ski resort became famous as a Ski World Championship mountain thanks to Austrian winter sports crack Toni Sailer winning three times gold there. What’s more, the Zirbenroas Graukogel route also makes the resort popular with ski tourers. Getting there is easy – just hop on the ski bus! The bus takes you from the interconnected ski area (Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel) to Graukogel free of charge.

Also, don’t forget to drop by Graukogelhütte or Graukogelalm to recharge your batteries after an eventful day in the snow – it’s worth it!
